It might not be exciting, but it is an essential part of any home or commercial building.
Put simply, an effective guttering system collects the rainwater that falls on your roof and directs it somewhere else, like into your town’s storm water system or into a tank for drinking water, flushing your toilets or watering your garden. The ‘somewhere else’ is the most important part here. If water is allowed to remain stagnant on your roof, or if broken or blocked downpipes allow water to collect in pools at the base of the building, you’re at risk of water damage further down the track.
